Episode 135: Trista Handisides - Women's surfing, movie producing, and the power of being open

Strangers on The Way Podcast

Happy Strangers on The Way Podcast Monday!

I’m so honored to introduce you to California-native Trista Handisides. Last month, I participated in a dream-come-true women’s surf retreat experience in Mexico where I met Trista. During our trip, she mentioned to me that she is the Executive Producer of a movie called She Change, a powerful documentary that follows four fearless women surfers fighting for equity in the sport. Because I’ve been fascinated with women’s empowerment in this season of life, I knew I needed to have her on the podcast.

Trista is a wife, mom, and former tech leader at Yahoo and Facebook—who’s now making waves in her community and beyond. In this episode, she opens up about navigating a season of interruption, aligning life with personal values, and getting involved with her local park foundation. She also shares stories from surfing in Mexico and her role as Executive Producer of She Change. I love Trista’s practical way of how we can turn our values into action with a bit of intentionality and a heart full of openness. If you’re ready to turn conviction into action and be uplifted by a story of courage, creativity, and community, this episode is for you.

Episode 135: Trista Handisides - Women's surfing, movie producing, and the power of being open is now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and on YouTube below.
